Interior Decorating DefinitionInterior decorating is the art of utilizing the floor plan and space of a room or building and of planning of a rooms internal layout, picking a color palette, finding distinctive wallpapers, choosing flooring, lighting & carpet, choosing upholstered pieces and fabrics, and coordinating all the accessories, including artwork, ornaments and artifacts. Interior decoration is the art of decorating a room so it looks and feels good, is easy to use, and functions well with the existing architecture. The aim of interior decoration is to provide a certain "feel" for the room and building; Interior Decoration involves choosing and applying wallpaper, choosing appropriate paint colors and painting walls and other interior surfaces, choosing furniture such as lounges, chairs and other furniture and fittings, such as light fixtures, and providing other decorations for the area such as paintings, artwork and sculptures. Interior decorating is done professionally by interior decorators or interior designers. Interior decoration is considered a design field. Interior decorating and interior design are not considered the same. Interior decorating is generally focused more on finishes, such as wallpaper, paint, window coverings, and furnishings wer as interior design is more about the architecture and construction design. Interior design tends to be more integrated with the architecture, and even though it often includes the areas above it also involves the design and placement room architecture such as cabinet making, room layout, window placement, appliance selection, tile and floor selection etc.

What to Do - Interior decorating starts with a general idea. Having free-flowing access to the most used areas of the home, and of getting a good " feel' from the living spaces. But, before embarking on an interior decorating project, you have to weigh the pros and cons. If you plan on spending lavishly for your interiors and furnishings, you have to assess the prevailing property values in your area. You need to work out how many rooms you want to improve, also you need to work out what furniture and furnishings you want to buy. Work out the costs involved and wether you want to use a profesional and pay the fees they charge.
